Ani’s outstanding Concert In Sydney, Australia

An honourific musician of Nagi Gompa nunnery of Nepal, Ani Choying Drolma is touringAustralia for last month. She is all along in Australia for her musicla performance in various cities. Ani, yesterday, Saturday 1st Dec, performed in Sydney, Australia.
Internationally acclaimed musician and humanitarian is performing her extraordinary interpretations of Buddhist chants and songs in concert for Australian audiences for the first time. One of the reputed musicians of Nepal, Nhu Bajracharya(music composer of phoolko aakhama) with Gopal Rasaily in guitar, Dhiraj Shrestha in tabala and Raman Maharjan in flute assisted Ani in the concert. Ani performed from her hit number ‘Phool Ko akha Ma’ to the recently recorded hymn.
Nepali folk melody, fusion of tabla and guitar was spellbinding symphony which had silenced the hall. Most of her songs conveys spiritual messages, as we all know.
In an event , nepali ambassador to Australia, Rudra Kumar Nepal, honorary consul Deepak Khadka from New South Wales(NSW) and other head of nepali communities were present. The profit made from the concert will be used in assisting Australian Himalayan Foundation and the Laskar Nepal, said the organizer committee.
Note: Australian Himalayan Foundation is a member of Australian council for international development whose vision is to help the people of the Himalaya achieve their goals.
It’s aim is to achieve this through improvements in three important areas:
Education
Health & Medical Services
Environment and Conservation
More importantly, It’s aim is to ensure, where possible, the long-term viability of schools, to provide health, education and medical services and to support environmental projects throughout the Himalaya.
On the other side, Laskar Nepal is a non-governmental organization that has been working for the promotion and protection of livelihood, betterment and advancement of women, health, environment, social justice and development. It is also affiliated with Social Welfare Council of Nepal (SWC). The affiliation number of SWC is 24977. It is an autonomous, non-partisan, non-beneficial organization, run by the women group from many sectors, who are enthusiastic to work in women development.

The following are Laska Nepal’s objectives;

To bring and uplift on the way of development for marginalized women group from dalit (untouchable) ethnic group, through empowerment.
To sustain peaceful environment, socialization and human respect.
To protect the civil rights of marginalized group.
To help the community providing the basic health facility and education.

Seto Bagh in Melbourne-Review

The red carpet premiere of Nepali movie Seto Bagh took place in Melbourne of Australia. After the first screening of movie in Melbourne based Capital theatre, nepali audience made good response of movie.

Directed by the veteran actor Nir Shah, Seto Bagh recieved the best compliment from the movie goers. Nir Shah with his wife Usha and director Gyanendra Deuja who are currently in Australia expressed their excitements from the audience response.

The audience presence was really well during the first premiere show in Capital theatre. The next show of movie adapted from the famous Nepali novel Seto Bagh written by Diamond Samsher Rana, will be held in Sydney next Saturday.

Soon after Australia, the film will be screened in different cities of the US, Deuja said.

Movie features the last 30 days of Jung Bahadur Rana, a ruler of Nepal and founder of the Rana dynasty of Nepal. Actor BS Rana plays the role of Jung Bahadur Rana-the lead role in the movie and Raja Ram Poudel as his confidant. According to the director Nir Shah, movie portrays the historical story of love and enemity, conspiracy between the Ranas for power.

movie One Way making

One of the best ways of promoting film is releasing movie’s making video.Featuring the Rock Icon of Nepali music, Robin Tamang, Nepali movie One Way’s making has been released. 
Tamang is seen in a lead role for the second time in One Way after his debut movie Chhadke.
The making video of the movie directed by Suraj Subba Nalbo is filmed using three cameras and has become appealing. The video features the scenes of Robin Tamang and Karishma Manandhar shot in Kathmandu based Star Mall. 
Produced by Raj Kumar Rai, One Way features new faces, Mala Limbu and Siddarth Gurung in lead roles. “Using three cameras at once has made easier for the actors to perform”, Nalbo claims. “Most of the dialogues were finalized just in one take”, he adds.
Besides, movie features Wilson Bikram Rai , Aakash Khawash, Bhanu Pratap, Prakash Ojha, Rupa Rana. The tentative release date of the movie id February 13.

Movie Soongava DVD Release

It’s a good news for those who have missed watching popular Nepali movie ‘Soongava-Dance of Orchid’, in theatres, it is now available on DVD. The critically acclaimed movie Soongava’s DVD was unfolded by the film makers and other artists in a program held at Thamel. Soongava’s DVD is marketed and released by HiTech Entertainment.
The award winning movie Soongava is directed by Subarna Thapa. Movie is based on same-sex relationship which is not approved in Nepali society. Soongava’s story revolves around two young girls played by Nisha Adhikari and Diya Maskey and their trouble as their relationship is crumpled by disapproving family, friends and employers. Beside Nisha and Diya, Saugat Malla, Laxmi Giri and Basundhara Bhusal are also seen in the movie.
Nepali movie Soongava took part in various film festivals and received many awards, however, it couldn’t make it on the nomination of Foreign Movie category of 86th Academy Awards.

Upcoming movie Everest’s release date postponed again

Now, it will take a week longer to climb Mount Everest. Yes, you read that right: the Universal has postponed the release date of Hollywood film filmed in Nepal, Everest’ for the second time. Initially, the film was supposed to release on February 27 2015, and was pushed back to September 18, 2015, and again, it is postponed a week back.
According to the Apple Entertainment, a Hollywood’s distribution company for Nepal, movie will be released on Ashoj 8th in Kathmandu, Nepal. And this will desperately affect the business of several Nepali movies releasing on the same date- Nepalka Bhale Pilot, Chankhe, Sankhe Ra Pankhe to name a few. Too, Nepali actor Raj Ballav Koirala starrer Hollywood movie High Way To Dhampush is releasing on the same date.
Directed by 2 Guns helmer Baltasar Kormakur, Everest, is filmed in the periphery of Kathmandu and on the foothills of the Mount Everest. Film is based on the true story of American Mountain climbers who were troubled by the glacier back in 1996. The film stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes and Jake Gyllenhaal.
